The Angels

LA gets a bad rap. I like it there. I stay with my friend who used to work for my first manager back in 1990. She's great and takes great measures into assuring my comfort.! Getting out of Chicago the day before the 3rd largest blizzard in history was nice as well. Getting to LA and it was 70 and sunny, got upgraded in the rent a car by Enterprise Leasing......for free which was nice ( the reason is they saw our luggage and baby and said we wouldn't even fit into the car i had reserved) First night was very mellow. Willie was great on her first trip. Being that we flew Southwest Heather and I sat seperately on the plane but a nice gent allowed us to sit together for some of the flight. Willie was a dream. Not one outburst , no crying.....i was proud.

Tuesday was the Laker game.......didn't start getting nervous til about an hour before we left......but nerves were kickin pretty good on the ride over. We had a lovely dinner and had court seats which were amazing. Dian Cannon( sp) said my rendition was amazing....as did Ron Artest oddly enough......Phil Jackson gave me a nice smile and head nod as he's said many nice things about my anthem.

Had a great meeting with a long time record executive who now runs a publishing company on Weds.......very fruitful meeting.

Thursday i met with the rest of the publishing company at Genghis Cohen and they wined and dined us to our hearts delight. Show went good....was short, but i remember thinking " this is going quite good"

Friday went over to a friends house in Silver Lake for drinks at their amazing new house rental and called it a night........

Came back to a post apocalyptic storm that had just knocked Chicago on its ass........Car was pretty buried but Heather can REALLY shovel snow!!!!

Off to " Title Town" today for show with my old pal Willy Porter........looking forward to it..........Anyone else diggin American Idol......diggin it better than the past years. Steven Tyler is awesome in my opinion.....

McDermott out.........Peace y'all....!!

Michael, you don't have to be nervous...no one sings the anthem more beautifully than you do.

As far as Idol...yes, I LOVE it this year! Steven Tyler is just so cool and funny and is a lot of fun. He makes the whole show. He comes across as very natural and honest. There are a LOT of talented people this year too.

Love to Heather & Rain too!

    • My fiance and I are getting married on January 19th. We're going to Alabama for our honeymoon, so I looked up the Workplay Theater to see who was playing that week. Turns out that your playing there on the 20th, so we bought our tickets. I've been to the Workplay before, and they had extra concert flyers for the street teams. If I got a flyer, would you autograph it for us so we can have a cool honeymoon souvenir. We would be most appreciative. Thanks if you can. Understandable if you can't though. Either way, it's going to be a great show, I'm sure. Joe and Linda

    • Hi Michael! I would like to see and hear you once with your fantastic music here in Switzerland!!!I'm a longtime fan since 620 West Surf and I have all your cd's and many dvd's! I'm looking forward to " Hit me back "!! Best wishes from Switzerland

    • Been a fan since I heard Paint You A Song on your 2004 Live At Shubas. It blew me away. The visual aspects of your lyrics are amazing. I've always tried to write like that. If cornered, and under duress, I would have to say that it along with 'Still Ain't Over You Yet' are my faves. Anyway, enough of the fan gushing. I got two questions, is ther any chance you'll be making it up here to the Great Northwest, and is there any chance you will release a studio version of Paint You A Song? God bless.

    • I love you music Michael!! I get so wet when I hear your voice!!

    • Thank you for the great show tonight, and especially for being so gracious toward my wife and me in speaking with us after the show and signing her CD and my hat. I'd like to send you a message regarding something that we have in common regarding our recent losses, but not in a public forum. You have my email from my signup tonight. Please send me a message there. I'd like to add to what I was able to say in the crowded space we were in. Like I told you tonight, it will get better, but will never go away. And that is a good thing, believe it or not. Peace. And God bless you and all of your loved ones.

    • Hi Michael and Heather

I got great pictures of us and the show i will bring them to Lincoln Hall show. I just have to say i felt we all hit it off like we had nown each other forever. Heather i so loved the way we bonded. It is great to meet new friends and thats how i felt. Michael and yourself are so down to earth. I would have texted Heather by now but i lost my phone in a cup holder in the limo and they are having to take panels out to get to it. My luck !! I should have it by Wednesday i hope. Anyway so looking forward to our next meeting. You know chicago so you guys make the after show plans. We are getting a Hotel as close to the show as we can. Until then God Bless !!!! • your songwriting may not save the people you love in the literal sense of the word, but for myself, it touches me and moves me and makes me think about things, good or bad, in such ways that I never had before. There's a lot to be said for that and I thank you. Love the pink rabbits. They bring your daughter joy as your music does.

    • Your show on NYE was FABULOUS!!! My wife and I thought you were by far the best act of the evening. Thanks for the wonderful time.

    • Glad I found your website. Was bored and typed your name and Mike Jordans on Google. Amazing. Would love to hear you again. Have to come to Chicago or somewhere I guess.
